Holiday Survival Skills and Hypnosis Revival Skills

Most of us survive the holidays rather than enjoy them. Hypnosis sessions clear up the past (bad memories, breakups, lack of presents, holiday mishaps, Uncle Bob’s drinking, your depression, sadness, and lack of joy). When you release those thoughts, feelings, ad emotions, your subconscious mind allows you to be present and you will act differently.

Here are a few tips and tricks to get you through the weeks ahead.

Sit and Sip

Sitting affects blood vessels and makes them less flexible. High-Flavanol teas (green, black, white and oolong), berries, apples, and some high-flavanol cocoa products may help support the vascular system during periods of inactivity. You still need to get up, move, and stretch. This holiday sip drinks that support your body. Here are some recipes: Exotic Chai Hot Chocolate and Easy Hot Chocolate.

Holiday Social Gatherings

When you are ready to exit the Grinch Fest, even if you’ve only been there for five minutes, use this terminology:

 “I’m heading out,” and, “Later.”

When you get flak from those surrounding you, stay sweet. “Amazing holiday,” or “so fun.”

You don’t have to explain. Less talking and more walking works as you head for the door.

Self-talk Boosts Motivation

Instead of constantly beating yourself up, remind yourself what you are good at. Self-acknowledgement motivates you while building self-esteem. Stop waiting for others to acknowledge you and begin the practice of acknowledging yourself!

Name your emotions instead of tamping them down: I am tired. I am thirsty. I am getting hangry. Now is the time to stop for something to eat and drink. Naming emotions shifts your brain from reactive to responsive.

Say what you are thinking out loud when you get distracted. You slow down, focus, and notice.

Bouncing back is a skill you can develop using mantras and affirmations:

Whatever comes my way, I can handle.

Whatever this day brings, I can thrive.

I am created on purpose for a purpose.

Get Enough Sleep

Stop the Scroll while brewing Camomile or Sleepy Time Tea.

Make a magnesium mocktail which relaxes and improves sleep. You typically combine magnesium powder, tart cherry juice, and a sparkling mixer. Tart cherry juice contains melatonin and magnesium supports muscle relaxation.

Turn the lights down.

Keep the Room Cool.

Try different sleeping positions.

Focus on breathing.

Mindfully relax every muscle in your body.

Listen to Ambient Noise.

Avoid stimulants and stop all caffeine after lunch.

Schedule a Hypnosis Session to learn how to quiet your mind and get to the root of why you aren’t sleeping.

People in America Are Dehydrated

Stay Hydrated. Dehydration causes constipation, tiredness, and affects mood, concentration, and physical performance.

Drink before you become thirsty.

Increase intake with activity.

Check the color or your urine. Pale yellow means good hydration.

Quality Time

Time spent with someone is a gift worth giving! Choose who, what, and where you want to spend your time.

Make the time you do spend meaningful. Make eye contact and put away the phone. Practice active listening. Be curious and ask open-ended questions.

Include a card, note of thanks, or even a quick, personalized call to tell them how much you’ve enjoyed them this year. Did you know that people who received personalized gifts, notes, and conversations get a boost to their self-esteem. You feel good and they feel good.

Rip the Band aide Off

Notice what you use as a coping mechanism. Smoking. Yelling. Social Isolation. Over-eating. Negative Self Talk. Drinking. Picking. You Name IT.

A little marijuana can be helpful, yet it doesn’t Fix Anything!

Hypnosis fixes those things you want to change.
